
Dara Peen
Dara Peen is an accomplished dancer at the young age of 23. Having been dancing for over 15 years, Dara has trained in various styles of Dance including Jazz, Funk, Tap, RAD Ballet, modern, contemporary and acrobatics.
There is no limit to a style Dara can do! Dara's training was not soley based around Dance; she undertook extensive Singing and Drama training at a very prestigious school to enhance her dancing career and musicality.
Dara found a love for entertaining and entertained the Penrith area by taking part in various local musicals. Dara showed promise in this area and was awarded a singing scholarship that provided her with private singing lessons for a year to further enhance her talent. Dara also enhanced her talent and love for dance by taking classes at the Sydney Dance Company that worked towards improving her technique and quality of Dance.
Dara also did work experience at the University of Western Sydney (Bachelor of Dance) to perfect her dance quality in the areas of contemporary and Modern. It is here she gained valuable experience working collaboratively with well-known talents and choreographers.
Throughout Dara's career in dancing, she was selected via audition to perform in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. She performed in the popular 'Eternity' section amongst some of the talented and well-known 'Tap Dogs' including Coyote Ugly's Adam Garcia. It is here Dara undertook extensive training under the strict direction of the prestigious Dein Perry, the creator and choreographer of the fabulous Tap Dogs. Dara learnt a lot from his creativity and expertise in this demanding but exciting business. Dara describes performing in the 2000 Olympic Ceremony as "the highlight of her career. "A truly emotional but rewarding experience".
Throughout Dara's time dancing she has performed and choreographed for many fetes, shopping centres, eisteddfods, musicals, soccer games, cruise boats, clubs, High Schools, Primary Schools and Dance Schools around the Penrith and CBD areas. The list could go on.
Dara has obtained a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and is currently teaching at a primary school in the Blue Mountains. She is a Performing Arts Team Leader at this school and is heavily involved in the choreography and organisation of this years school musical "A Night to Remember."
